BRICKS (AND CELLMATES?)

BRICKS. Yup, it takes bricks to build prison walls, and Michael Cohen just added a few more yesterday. No, not to the wall he will soon sleep behind, but the one being constructed for Donald Trump and the rest of the TCF. We heard Cohen give testimony about i) conduct effecting a criminal conspiracy to violate the campaign laws, -- in the oval office yet --; ii) evidence that, contrary to his public (and perhaps sworn?) statements, Trump received a heads-up from Roger Stone about the Wikileaks dump; iii) evidence suggesting Trump implicitly encouraged Cohen to lie to Congress; iv) continuing investigations of the SDNY, and lots more. No, not prefabricated prison walls, just lots of bricks.

But while the other members of the TCF are currently subject to indictment were a prosecutor to find they had committed crimes, it is the current view of the DOJ that the head of the TCF is immune from being indicted as long as he remains our President.

But that policy is wrong!

First, newly discovered evidence shoots holes in that decades old immunity shield, and the DOJ's policy now finds support neither in the Constitution nor in judicial precedent.

Second, even if Trump's new Attorney General persists in adhering to current DOJ policy, I have a solution.

Both points are covered my article published in Time.com this afternoon. Click here:
